POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Behavior Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting with the development of behavior plans, psychotropic medication treatment plan and data collection systems, working with direct care staff and managers to enhance understanding and proper utilization of plans, and ensuring that individuals served receive appropriate and consistent support and guidance needed to achieve their own personal goals and to develop necessary skills and healthy behaviors. The Behavior Specialist also collaborates with outside agencies to assist with collaborative treatment goals.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree in related field or High school diploma/GED with 1 year experience in the field utilizing behavior management techniques for individuals with developmental disabilities is required, RBT preferred. Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Ability to complete all initial and ongoing background checks including but not limited to: CORI, SORI, Fingerprinting, LEIE, Driving record, E-verify, Physical, PPD and licensing and/or certification checks (i.e., nursing). Valid US driver’s license and ready access to a vehicle.
