The Departments of Psychological Science and Neuroscience seek candidates with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and the ability to establish an active research program that involves undergraduates. The position (75% appointment in Psychological Science and 25% appointment in Neuroscience) will begin in July 2027.
The candidate is expected to teach two courses per semester, in addition to supervising senior theses. Courses may include introductory psychology and/or human neuroscience, as well as courses (elective, lab, or seminar) in the candidate’s area of research expertise. The successful candidate will have a productive research program examining the neural and/or physiological mechanisms of psychological phenomena.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field. Please submit a dossier including (a) a cover letter, (b) curriculum vitae, (c) three brief statements – one addressing teaching philosophy and experience; one addressing scholarship, including future directions; and one addressing the candidate’s ability to mentor a diverse student body, (d) up to three representative reprints or pre-prints, and (e) three letters of recommendation. Pomona College offers a robust compensation and benefits package. The salary range for this position is $105,000-$130,000.
