Description
Mid North Coast Local Health District is seeking an experienced and contemporary clinical leader to join the District Integrated Mental Health, Alcohol & Other Drugs (IMHAOD) executive team as District Medical Director. This senior leadership position provides strategic and clinical oversight across inpatient and community mental health and alcohol and other drugs services throughout the District. Working in partnership with the Director IMHAOD and broader executive team, the role is responsible for leading clinical governance, workforce development, service planning, quality improvement, and the implementation of innovative and recovery-focused models of care.
The successful applicant will be a practicing Consultant Psychiatrist with Specialist Registration, or eligible for Specialist Registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or equivalent specialist recognition. Applicants will demonstrate significant leadership experience within complex mental health services, with proven capability in clinical governance, change management, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and fostering a culture of safety, quality and multidisciplinary collaboration.
This is a permanent full time Staff Specialist position with location negotiable across the Mid North Coast Local Health District. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of integrated mental health and alcohol and other drugs services across a geographically diverse region, with a strong commitment to improving outcomes for consumers, carers and Aboriginal communities.
