- Behavior Technician (BT) - Private Family Position
Description
In-person, private family position in Harrison, NY. Seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated individual to work one-on-one with Steven, a 38-year-old adult with autism. Ideal for students or graduates in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Psychology, Special Education, and Social Work.
Training and professional supervision by a BCBA (Board Certified Behavioral Analyst) can be provided. Work hours may qualify toward supervision or fieldwork requirements depending on program guidelines. Flexible scheduling (full-time or part-time available) and competitive compensation available.
This position offers meaningful experience in advocacy, behavioral support, and developmental disability services. An excellent opportunity for someone seeking practical experience, supervised hours, or direct support experience.
**Responsibilities:**
* Implement behavioral programs.
* Closely follow instructions and receive training.
* Teach life skills (hygiene, cooking, organization, routines).
* Collect data and track progress.
* Support communication and independence.
* Assist with community outings and activities.
* Collaborate with family and care team.
* Available to attend weekly team meeting every Thursday at 1:30 PM (in-person or virtual).
**Qualifications:**
* Background in applied behavioral analysis, psychology, special education, and/or social work.
* Calm, adaptable, and professional with a proactive mindset.
* Driver’s license preferred.
**Additional details:**
* Must be able to commute to Harrison, NY. Metro North station is a 10 minute walk from home.
* Willingness to receive feedback and closely follow instructions is a necessary component of the job.
