The Louis A. Faillace, MD, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston has extraordinary opportunities for mental health professionals seeking to develop an academic career in Psychiatry. We are recruiting multiple faculty positions for our Telemedicine Program. This remote role uses tele-video technology to provide psychological services to inpatient facilities across Texas. Minimal travel for site visits is required, and all equipment and technical support will be provided.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Performing psychological testing, examinations, and evaluations including trial competency evaluations (TCE) in conformance with hospital bylaws and operating procedures, SSLC policy, Texas Administrative Code requirements, and applicable state and federal law;
- Providing consultation and recommendations to recovery teams and interdisciplinary treatment teams for individualized treatment planning and competency restoration planning in accordance with ethical standards regarding separation of treatment services and forensic evaluation services;
- Providing testimony in court for TCE’s as requested by the judge.
Qualifications:
- Psy.D. or Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
Depending upon the applicant's qualifications and credentials, faculty appointment as the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor rank will be offered.
