Locations: Melbourne (VIC) (1 role) & Wodonga (VIC) (1 role) Contract: 24-month fixed-term Federal Government Contract, ASAP start Rate: $67–$76 per hour + super Applications close: 19 August 2026
An established national mental health service is seeking experienced Mental Health Clinicians to join multidisciplinary teams in Melbourne and Wodonga. This service provides free, confidential, evidence-based mental health support to current and former Australian Defence Force members and their families.
The service focuses on high-quality, trauma-informed care, combining individual, couple and family counselling with group programs, outreach, and coordinated care pathways. Clinicians are supported through funded clinical supervision, structured professional development, and strong clinical governance.
The Role You will deliver comprehensive mental health services to adults, couples and families, working with a broad range of presentations including trauma, adjustment difficulties, anxiety, depression, and complex psychosocial issues. The role sits within a collaborative multidisciplinary team and includes regular case reviews and operational supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Provide evidence-based assessment, formulation and counselling Conduct risk assessments, care planning and progress reviews Deliver individual, couple and family therapy Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation Participate in case reviews, supervision and CPD Liaise with families, external providers and internal stakeholders Contribute to group programs, outreach and service initiatives
About You You are a skilled and compassionate clinician with strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills, and a trauma-informed, client-centred approach. You are comfortable managing complex presentations while working within ethical, legislative and policy frameworks.
Mandatory Requirements
Australian citizenship required for security clearances Experience working with a broad range of presentations Minimum 3 years experience within Mental Health highly desirable - will consider newly graduated Registered Psychologists (NOT provisional) Highly desirable- previous work experience with veterans or personal connection to the ADF One of the following:
Psychologist or Mental Health Occupational Therapist with full AHPRA registration, or Social Worker eligible for AASW membership, or Masters-level counselling qualification with PACFA (Registered Clinical Counsellor) or ACA Level 3 or 4 To apply for this position please click APPLY, email applications will not be accepted
